(More customer reviews)I've replaced the batteries in two of my APC UPS devices and both have worked.
I replaced my APC Back-UPS 500 battery a few months ago and have had a few power cuts since then and it hasn't failed yet.
I also replaced the battery in an APC Back-UPS CS a few weeks ago and that has also kept the PC running during a couple of power cuts so far.
I haven't used it with monitoring software so I don't know if it gives the correct information on the remaining battery life.
Update Jan 2008:
It's been almost two years since I replaced my batteries and they're still working even after many power outages.
Update October 2009:
Both batteries are still working without problems more than three years after I purchased them.
