First of all this is a great ups, i run the following on it:
20.1" Samsung 204B LCD Monitor
Computer (1hdd, 3 optical, ATI Radeon HD 4850, Athlon64 6000+) on a 750 watt PSU
Creative Gigaworks S750 700 watt surround sound speakers
Western Digital MyBook 500gb USB External Hard Drive
RCA RS2652 model stereo w/ 200 watts total system power
Westinghouse 30 inch LCD HDTV
Philips DVDR (DVDR + 160GB HD)
DirecTV satelite box
VCR
I run all that and i hit only 50%-55% on the load (380 watts +/- 5%) This thing is awesome to be able to keep everything from flickering on and off, from damaging power sags and spikes, and everything.
CONS:
Well, the rated specs say 50 minutes run time, but its more like 5 at half load, well more than enough time to shut down everything to the lowest power state. At the lowest draw I can get to, ~70 watts, it can run about an hour. The 4 outlets aren't adapter spaced so you do need a surge protector. No digital display. Can't turn the critical battery level alarm off. There is no Refresh button or anything to allow the refreshment of the battery which can shorten the lifetime. UPSMon, while a mianstream software, does suck, really bad translation and is a tad confusing on how to set everything. Battery is sealed and non-user replaceable. Surge protection is a MARGINAL 1065 Joules.
Bottom Line:
Well, its a great UPS, price is low because this is a dated model. Biggest drawback is the lack of an LCD screen to monitor the status without a computer. And for less than $100, this seems to be the best buy on the market.
*Actually if you let this thing charge for >6 hours you will get a longer runtime, but if the power is flickering on and off everynow and then where it cant get some good solid hours of recharge before discharging again its going to be short.
