(More customer reviews)Like some of the previous reviewers, I really hate that the unit does not come with a USB connection. I mean, come on APC, when's the last time a standard PC shipped with a serial port? To be fair, this is a rack mount model, so they probably expect it to be used with servers (which do have serial ports, by and large), but considering that they include USB cables with most of their Smart UPS desktop units, this is a huge oversight IMO. USB will work with pretty much everything (with the exception of some old Sparc junk), while serial works with a very small number of things these days.
Contrary to one previous reviewer, it DOES fit in a standard rack. If it doesn't fit in yours, you don't have a standard 19" rack. Comes with mounting hardware (ears, screws, and cage nuts) for both square hole and round hole 2-post racks. I'm using it in a Studio RTA Producer Station, and it fits just fine.
Despite all of these gripes, my unit had a fresh battery, powered right on, and is running rock solid. Ultimately, you can't really complain too much, because in the 450VA rack-mount sine-wave UPS space, this is just about the only game in town.
